David Oliver Chair, Board of Trustees

David retired as Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the Wisdom Hospice in Rochester in 2016, and became a Trustee of the Society in June 2018.  His medical experience in the care of people with neurological disease often brought him into contact with Frindsbury House, where he was very impressed with the care provided at the home.  He is now delighted to be able to help in the Mortimer Society as a Trustee, and since 2020 as the Chair of the Board.  David is an Honorary Professor at the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent, where he teaches, undertakes research and supervises postgraduate students.  He continues to lecture widely on palliative care, both nationally and internationally.

He is a keen walker and enjoys travel both in the UK and abroad.  He lives in Rochester.
